CHAMPION AWARDS CATEGORIES
This is the entire veterinary team who goes beyond great healthcare. They know veterinary care is also the hundred little ways they help pet owners and pets feel better, especially when things are most stressful - from remembering your pet by name, to giving extra-special medical care. Whether they're general practice, or specialists in an area of animal health, they're the cat's meow.
VETERINARIAN OR VETERINARY STAFF
This veterinarian or staff member knows your pet -- and you, too. They make sense of complicated information and difficult choices. They may donate to or volunteer at local pet shelters by taking in pets in need, bringing them back to health, and finding them new homes - often when no one will foot the bill. Perhaps their sympathy and concern when you've dealt with illness or loss has been extraordinary - or their personal greeting of your pet every single visit reminds you they truly love and care for your pet. They've got your back, and your pet's, too.
This individual or organization is a voice for pets. Perhaps they're fighting to change the laws about puppy mills. Maybe they're educating the public about pet-related causes by speaking out. They could even be helping pet owners by blogging about important issues.
SHELTER & RESCUE
This organization is working to provide every pet with a loving home. Perhaps they shelter homeless pets or fundraise to feed homeless pets. This team always opens their hearts when pets have no family or home to call their own.
Like everyone, this volunteer is busy, but makes extra time to volunteer for pets. They're driven to make an impact. They may be volunteering with an organization or fostering pets in their home.
This pet owner is extra-special. They've had to put the needs of their pet ahead of their own. This is the person who took a second job to pay for their pet's emergency surgery. Or the person who found a new home for their pet with another family, because it was closer to the vital medical care the pet can't live without.
This person breeds pets with love and care. They hold themselves to the highest standards of practice, providing the best living conditions. And it shows in their healthy litters! They take care to place pets in loving homes and go above and beyond to ensure pet owners can provide the best of care too. Their genuine love for pets shows in the way they give back to pets and causes in their community.
